My basic rate for medical, legal and general texts is 0.15 EUR per source word. However, depending on the degree of difficulty, file format, intended use and delivery date, the final price may be higher. However, I can reassure you right away: no hidden costs await you. After reviewing the file to be translated, I will send you a non-binding cost estimate with a fixed price that will not change after the order has been accepted.
The minimum order value for specialist translations is EUR 40.
Certified translations of official documents for regocnition by public authorities are charged in accordance with the German Judicial Remuneration and Allowances Act (JVEG) at 2.08 EUR per line (55 characters including spaces, based on the target text). I am happy to provide you with an individual quote, if you send me the document as a scan or word file by email.
Additional copies which are ordered together with the original translation are charged at 2.00 EUR per page.
All translations are kept for 10 years. Of course you can order further copies of the original translation within this time frame. This will attract a one-off charge of 10.00 EUR.
*As document translations are generally ordered by private customers, all document translation rates include the statutory German VAT of currently 19 %.
For the translation of one book page (250 words/1500 characters), I generally charge about 25.00 EUR including editing and proofreading plus statutory German VAT at a rate of 7 %, which incurs for book translations.
Please contact me for a detailed, individual quote, and don't forget to send me a copy of your work (or excerpts thereof).
If possible, please send me your text files in Word format, as for the translation of other files such as PDF, PPTX, XML etc. I add a surcharge of at least 10 %.
In case you need a translation for internal purposes, I charge the basic rate. If the text is intended for publication, I will have it proofread by a colleague. Accordingly. the final price will increase by the proof reader's remuneration.
Generally, I translate a maximum of 2000 words per day. Of course, it is possible that you need your translation to be finished the same day you order it. Accordingly, this increases my workload. In such case I add an express surcharge of 20 %.
Work Outside Office Hours:
I am happy to translate for you outside my office hours or at the weekend or holidays. However, "out-of-hours"-work will attract a surcharge of 50 %.
*All rates listed under "Specialist Translations" are inteded for corporate customers and do not include statutory German VAT at the current rate of 19 %.
